Aim: This study focused on the structural modeling of the competence of secondary school managers in Tehran as a driver of sustainable development.
Methodology: The present study is considered to be developmental and applied in terms of its objective, and descriptive-survey in terms of data collection due to the nature of the research. The statistical population in the quantitative section includes secondary school managers in districts 2, 5, 6, and 8 in Tehran, who have a history of management in secondary schools and have executive and research activities in the field of education. Therefore, the sample size in this study is 384 individuals, and 384 questionnaires were used for data analysis. The questionnaires used to measure the research variables were from Shamsudin & Chuttipattana (2012) and Villa & Tulod (2021). The reliability of the questionnaire was calculated based on Cronbach's alpha, and the validity was confirmed through confirmatory factor analysis. In the present study, structural equation modeling was used for data analysis.
Findings: According to the research findings, the model of professional competence of school managers includes competency empowerment, managerial competence, ethical and professional behavior competencies, managerial development, social indicators of managers, establishment of work groups for performance improvement and green competence, attitudinal competencies, knowledge competencies, educational competencies, commercialization of knowledge-skill and technology competencies, work ethic, consumption pattern modification, participation in development, and movement towards national empowerment, leading to the realization of the results of work ethic, consumption pattern modification, and participation in development.
Discussion and Conclusion: The expansion of the professional competence model of school managers in secondary schools can aid managers and educational planners in improving educational conditions.
