Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the antecedents and consequences of ethical capital of principals of non-governmental Primary Schools in Tehran city.
Methodology: This study in terms of purpose was applied and in terms of implementation method was qualitative. The study population was 15 principals of special non-governmental Primary Schools in Tehran who were selected according to the principle of theoretical saturation by purposive sampling method. The research tool was a semi-structured interview that lasted for 45 to 60 minutes per person and the validity of the data was confirmed by the triangulation method and its reliability was estimated by the agreement coefficient method of the two coders was higher than 70%. Data were analyzed by the coding method in MAXQDA software.
Findings: Based on the findings, the antecedents of ethical capital of principals included 35 sub-categories in 9 main categories such as family characteristics, community characteristics, personality and professional characteristics of principal, the organizational culture of education, the position and critical role of management in Primary School, the policies, and laws of education, and the economic, social, and organizational factors.
Conclusion: Moreover, the consequences of ethical capital of principals included 25 sub-categories in 2 main categories, such as individual and social factors. According to the results of the present study and in order to realize the consequences of the ethical capital of principals of non-governmental Primary Schools, the ground must be prepared for the realization of its antecedents.
